Your autumn/winter wardrobe staples

|

Autumn has officially arrived, and winter won’t be far behind it. As we’re spending more time outdoors having to adapt to our new normal, our wardrobes need to complement this too. The Clothes Hanger is here to share the staples you need for your wardrobe that will see you through these colder months.

The ‘everything’ roll neck

Utilise your summer wardrobe and give it a little extra life. A staple roll neck top or thin knit will sit perfectly underneath shirts and dresses, creating a new look and that all-important extra layer. You’ll probably have one in your wardrobe but if you don’t already, head for neutral colours that can be integrated into your capsule wardrobe.

The structured wool blazer

A blazer can smarten up any outfit but, in the winter, a wool blazer is what you’ll be reaching for. Whether that’s a patterned piece or a statement colour, the wool blazer is an ideal day-to-night transitional jacket, that’s sure to keep you warm.

The oversized scarf

Channel your inner snowman and get familiar with the oversized scarf. Full of Scandinavian style and our most-worn accessory as soon as Autumn comes around. Big enough to double up as a blanket when needed or a shawl for a different day, this simple accessory needs to be present in your drawer, next to your door or proudly around your neck.

The sweater vest

The Autumn Winter 2020 ‘it’ garment has been a long-standing piece in wardrobes for years. Try pairing it with a crisp white shirt for an optimal workwear aesthetic, or team with your staple roll neck for more casual days.

The matching mask

As face coverings become a part of our every day, switch up your style with a co-ord mask, matching with your daily look. Whether you’re having a go at making your own or finding a local stockist, you may as well look good whilst you’re wearing one – it’s an easy way to elevate your outfit.
